What does the message "Cannot set the value of variables by means of the View version of runtime software", displayed during runtime, mean?

You are probably using Reliance Runtime View where this functionality is not available. In order to be able to control the visualized process (e.g., change a set-point or output), you need to upgrade to Reliance Runtime Control.
