In 2018–2019, the AEF company (Acimex Electronics Fulnek) installed an IRC (Individual Room Control) system for heating the Moravian-Silesian Region Office's rooms.
The reason for using room controllers is to reduce costs and allow office temperatures to be completely controlled.
Control is provided by 4 Tecomat Foxtrot CP-1016 PLCs, the visualization project was created with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system.
The room controllers are connected to the existing hot-water system. The visualization project, which – in part and indirectly – controls the room controllers, time programs (schedules), or sensor correction, displays the plans for all the floors and rooms with room control.
Each room has its own time program, which opens in a popup window. On a floor plan, the user can select rooms whose time programs they want to save. This solution is simple and user-friendly without laboriously setting programs for each room separately. A time program is divided into three intervals including weekends.
As part of the visualization project, it is also possible to apply office temperature sensor corrections. In addition, the floor plans can be used to display the status of the heat (on/off) and error messages, to switch from manual mode to a time program, to turn the heat on and off, and to display the setpoint and the real temperature in a room.
At the request of the customer, outside sensors for each part of the building were added to the visualization project. They allow changing the temperature setpoints. The eastern side of the building is heated by the sun, so the rooms need little heat.
As the visualization project is only available on the intranet, there are few people (with two types of access rights) who are allowed to access it. The maintenance manager can monitor and control temperatures and corrections. The other staff with access rights can only view the temperatures.
Try the Reliance SCADA/HMI system on several example projects or download the installer of the trial version for free.
