In 2004, we visited Innovative Controls Corporation (ICON) from Toledo in state Ohio. Our visit was preceeded by almost yearlong talks. These included two videoconferences aimed at presenting our SCADA/HMI system, Reliance. These gave the American specialists the opportunity not only to see the presentation of our system but also to ask questions. They found the presentation of Reliance so interesting that we agreed to arrange a personal meeting in the USA.
In May 2004, we went on a trip across the ocean. During the ten-day visit of the USA we had several meetings with representatives not only from ICON but also from the state of Ohio’s Regional Growth Partnership. Overall we met with very friendly approach while visiting the USA.
Prior to our visit, ICON had prepared for us a complete analysis of SCADA systems for the American market. Thus we acquired a survey about functionality and prices of competitive products, which enabled us to prepare a plan how to introduce Reliance to the American market keeping in mind the particularities of this market. We visited several production companies around Toledo. ICON representatives pointed out the potential production companies where Reliance could be used for visualization and control of production lines.
