How to configure Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500 in TIA Portal to communicate with Reliance SCADA

Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 (beginning with firmware version 4.0) and SIMATIC S7-1500 PLCs have a built-in firewall. By default, the maximum protection level is activated.

To establish communication with these PLC models, communication with third-party devices must be enabled. This setting is available in the TIA Portal programming software (see below).

What to do

1. Open your PLC project in TIA Portal.
2. Select the PLC in the project tree and choose the Properties command.

3. On the General page, select Protection, make sure that Full access (no protection) is chosen.

4. Finally, scroll down the page and check Permit access with PUT/GET communication from remote partner.
