Visualization and control of the treatment process at the Prelouc Wastewater Treatment Plant

In 2002, a new wastewater treatment plant for the town of Prelouc was built and put into operation. The operator of the plant is the Czech joint-stock company Vodovody a kanalizace Pardubice (hereinafter referred to as VaK).

Control system

The complete visualization and control system for the plant was implemented by the PROTECO company. To control the process of mechanical pre-treatment and the blower room,
a Tecomat NS950 PLC with a CPM 2B central unit was employed. Another Tecomat NS950 PLC with a CPM 1D central unit was used to control the process of sludge treatment.

Using radio communication, important data and other operational values are transmitted to the VaK main control room. For this purpose, the room was fitted with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. In spite of the complexity of the control system, we managed to provide it with unmanned operation.
