Ceylanpınar is one of thirteen districts into which the Turkish province of Urfa is divided. Due to its hot and dry climate, the area is full of arid lands that are not suitable for agriculture.
Center-pivot irrigation
In 2023, Turkey's General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises started a project whose goal is to transform these lands into agricultural lands. Its implementation is provided by the Genç Power company in cooperation with Halıcı Elektronik.
Irrigation is carried out in larger areas with less manpower using a remote control and monitoring system.

The control system, which consists of dozens of ABB PLCs and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system, is used to control and monitor the status of the pumps and pivots used for the process of irrigation. In locations with no GSM signal, RF modems are in place for communication. Thanks to Reliance's user-friendliness and flexibility, a reliable communication infrastructure has been established.
