The Niegowa plant, which is owned by Niegowa Commune, focuses on the processes of mechanical biological wastewater treatment and sludge treatment. The plant's main part is divided into two biological multiphase reactors that work in parallel.
Reliance success stories – water and wastewater
In 2021, the treatment plant's control system underwent modernization as the old one, based on switches and relays, was off-duty. Therefore, the CONTROL-MAX and ELEKTROSKAN companies installed a new main control cabinet equipped with a Modicon M340 PLC and the Reliance SCADA system. Another control cabinet was provided with an Eaton EasyE4 PLC to control the main pumping station and was also connected to the Reliance system via Wi-Fi.
Operating personnel use Reliance SCADA to supervise all the devices and processes. Alarms, control commands, measurement results, and real-time trends are of great help to keep the plant running. Reliance also provides historical trends and quantity reports.
There are plans to modernize the control system again starting soon. The control cabinets and the Reliance SCADA system are compatible with this upgrade.
