The wastewater treatment plant in the Polish town of Mikołów came into operation in 2005. It focuses on two processes – mechanical biological wastewater treatment and sludge treatment.
Mikołów Wastewater Treatment Plant
The first plant modernization took place in 2016, introducing new devices and a new control system. The control system was implemented by CONTROL-MAX and ELEKTROSKAN and consisted of Modicon M340 controllers and the Reliance SCADA system.
The second phase of the modernization was performed in 2020 when the main pumping station was provided with a new control system, another Modicon M340 was put into operation, and a new blower station was introduced. The blower's control system is based on Siemens SIMATIC PLCs and the Reliance SCADA system.

Operating personnel use Reliance SCADA to supervise all the devices and processes. Alarms, control commands, measurement results, and real-time trends are of great help to keep the plant running. Reliance also provides historical trends, quantity reports, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), energy demand control, and precise information from some devices (e.g., inverters).
The Reliance visualization project continuously expands with new devices, functions, and information added as required.
