İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration) is responsible for the water infrastructure of Istanbul Province.
The Büyükçekmece Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant and Büyükçekmece Lake, an important drinking water source of İSKİ, are totally free of pollution risk. The plant averages 132,000 cubic meters of polluted water treatment per day. Thus, it contributes significantly to the protection of nature.

This installation finished second in the Reliance Success Story Awards 2016 competition.
In 2015–2016, a system for the visualization and control of the operation of the treatment plant was implemented by Halıcı Elektronik. For this purpose, the Reliance SCADA/HMI system and ABB's PLC devices are used. Thanks to Reliance, faults are quickly detected and the efficiency of the biological treatment process increases. In addition, it allows access to the visualization project from remote locations.

Using the CODESYS OPC Server, the data collected from the PLCs (motor, valve, and instrument values) is transmitted to the Reliance SCADA system. For historical purposes, alarms/events and sensor data (levels, conductivity, volumetric analysis, turbidity, etc.) are recorded using Reliance's servers, for which data server redundancy is used. Reliance Web Client monitors the system from remote locations over the Internet. In addition, operators use Reliance Smart Client on their tablets. The Reliance system is installed on five workstations (the director's office, laboratory, sludge dewatering building, operator's room, and engineering computer). Any changes made to the Reliance visualization project on the engineering computer are automatically processed on the other computers.
