In 2000, a new control system for the wastewater treatment plant in Podebrady was implemented by the SIGMAINVEST company. This company's Engineering Division was responsible for the construction of the high-current distribution system and the construction of the plant's control and measuring stations.
The complete visualization and control system for the plant was implemented by the PROTECO company. To control the process of mechanical pre-treatment and the blower room,
a Tecomat NS950 PLC with a CPM 2B central unit was employed. Another Tecomat NS950 PLC with a CPM 1D central unit was used to control the process of sludge treatment.
The wastewater treatment plant's control room
The plant's processes are also controlled by a Tecomat NS950 PLC. This PLC is, via a serial link, connected to the control room's PC equipped with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. The control room's PC is used to reliably control and monitor the operation of the entire wastewater treatment plant and to save operating data for later analysis.
