JIP – Papirny Vetrni (South-Bohemian Paper Mill) is a joint-stock company that is part of an old tradition of papermaking in South Bohemia. In 1870, a wood grinding mill was built on the site of the former Peckov Mill, which was later extended to include the production of wood pulp.
JIP entered the third millennium as a reputable company, building on its traditions of consistent quality and solid business relationships, which it aims to develop into long-term prospects. Printing and wrapping papers are sold successfully not only in Czechia – JIP's products are also valued by customers from all over the world for their excellent quality.

In 2005, a system to control corporate energy consumption was implemented by the Elektroprojekce Sirovy company. The control system provides dependable control of 6,4/1,2MPa + 1,2/0,3MPa reduction stations, and a 15MVA back-pressure steam turbine. Communication among PLC devices is provided via CANbus. Communication between the PLC devices and the SCADA-based system is provided via TCP/IP.

The Reliance SCADA/HMI was installed on the control room's computer to reliably control energy consumption. The production process equipment, which is connected to the control computer, is under control of the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. The entire production process is constantly monitored via the advanced Reliance visualization. The data server (one computer) allows creating user scripts, saving and archiving data, and providing system maintenance. The Reliance system provides control of the boiler room, generator room, main switch room, chemical water treatment, neutralization of sewage water, waterworks, and compressor room.
