In 2004, a new hydroelectric power station was put into operation in the city of Fujiyoshida (central Japan). All industrial devices (Francis turbine, induction generator, water intake device, and electrical installation with Tecomat PLCs) were implemented by the Czech company CKD TURBO TECHNICS, a member of the Mavel joint-stock company.
The hydroelectric power station is composed of a 132kW output horizontal Francis turbine connected with an induction generator via a dry disk clutch, a control hydraulic unit of the Francis turbine, water valves controlled from the control room, and intake devices (water-gate, trash racks, and telescopic trash rack cleaning machine).

All operations (failure automatics, drives, supervisory and control units) are handled by one Tecomat TC 600 PLC. The user software implemented by CKD TURBO TECHNICS controls the operation of the machine unit and the water inlet and allows the unmanned operation of the hydroelectric power station.
The central control system of the hydroelectric power station, including the entire visualization, is provided by the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. Reliance allows monitoring and controlling the hydroelectric power station from remote locations via the Internet.
