Visualization and control of a single-family home in the small town of Rataje

In 2012, a CFox-based intelligent home system by Teco was installed in a newly built single-family home in Rataje. The investor demanded that the house be controlled via an iPad with the possibility of displaying the current status. The Reliance SCADA/HMI system was chosen for this purpose. Its Smart Client module allows for displaying visualization applications on smartphones and tablets with various operating systems.

One of the main requirements was to integrate the technical equipment of the house into one solution. This mainly involved the control of underfloor heating through a stratification tank. It was also intended that the tank be used to provide domestic hot water and ensure its circulation. The water in the tank was intended to be heated in the following three ways: using an electric boiler, solar system, or fireplace heat exchanger insert. Another requirement was to control lighting, outdoor blinds, and garage door and to integrate IP cameras.

Control system

It was suggested to the investor that individual systems' autonomous controls should be replaced with one centralized system. Therefore, a Tecomat Foxtrot CP-1000 PLC and CFox CIB modules were used. Thanks to this solution, various data from the house can be monitored (temperatures, lighting buttons status, etc.).

This resulted in the installation of a control cabinet equipped with the PLC in the house's technical room. In the technical room, Reliance Control Server is installed on a computer to clearly and safely display data from the PLC. This computer also acts as a server for tablets that connect to it via the Internet or intranet. Reliance Smart Client allows the residents to conveniently monitor and control the intelligent home system on a tablet.
