Visualization and control of the HVAC system at Visteon-Autopal's manufacturing facility

Visteon is a global leader in automotive products. In 2015, the company built a manufacturing plant and a technical center for HVAC equipment at CTPark Novy Jicin (located 30 km south of the city of Ostrava).

EV COMP, a long-time systems integrator, implemented a system for the visualization and control of the HVAC system at Visteon-Autopal's manufacturing facility. For control purposes, the Tecomat Foxtrot system by Teco was chosen. The GEOVAP company was involved in the project by providing hardware for the control system and creating the visualization project (Reliance 4 SCADA/HMI).

Control system

The Foxtrot PLCs, which are installed in 6 control cabinets located throughout the facility, are used to monitor and control:

• 12 air-conditioning units
• Exhaust from the manufacturing area
• Boiler room
• Air-compressing plant
• Air-conditioning units in offices through the Modbus communication protocol
• Energy metering (natural gas, water, electricity)

Additional air-conditioning units (Sahara) are planned for future use.

All data from the control system is passed to the operator's PC equipped with the Reliance 4 Control Server runtime software. Using visualization screens, the Reliance SCADA system allows the operator to monitor individual processes and alarm reports, set parameters, use trends and reports to view historical data.

The facility custodian can access the visualization project and data via Reliance 4 Web Client using a tablet.
