Reliance SCADA at Pohorelice Sports Center

Situated on the Jihlava River, the town of Pohorelice lies about 25 km to the south of the city of Brno. It is located in a flat landscape with very fertile black soil and remnants of riparian vegetation. The town is divided into four separate neighborhoods.

The major annual events in Pohorelice are the Town Festival (held in June) and the carp haul at Vrkoc Pond (held in October). The town's modern sports center hosts a number of annual sporting events.

In 2019, the sports center's HVAC and lighting system was completely renovated. The project was implemented by the GEOVAP company in collaboration with ELG-ELECTRIC and CERGOMONT.

The solution includes Tecomat Foxtrot PLC devices and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system.

Control system

The Tecomat Foxtrot system is decentralized and installed in three control cabinets throughout the sports center. One PLC is used for controlling water preparation and two PLCs are used for controlling two air handling units. For data exchange, the PLC devices are interconnected through PLCNet. The main control cabinet is equipped with an HMI panel for local control.

The control system is used to control and monitor:

ROBUR heat pumps
Hot water preparation and distribution
Atrea DUPLEX 8000 Roto-N air handling unit (interior)
Atrea DUPLEX 4500 MultiEco air handling unit (clubroom, restaurant, fitness center, locker rooms)
Lights through DALI ballasts (scenes can be set)
Gas, water, and heat consumption (M-Bus communication)

The control PC is located in the reception office. It is equipped with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. The prime objective of Reliance is to gather data from the PLCs and present it graphically so that the operator is notified immediately of the status of the sports center's technological systems and is able to identify and solve potential problems.

All operating data is logged to a database. Energy data logging is also an integral part of the project.
