Originally Brazilian, Citrosuco is a global producer of 100% orange juice, whose consumers can be found in over a hundred countries in Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
Citrosuco
The company has five maritime terminals, which are in Santos (Brazil), Wilmington (USA), Ghent (Belgium), Toyohashi (Japan), and Newcastle (Australia), and a fleet of ships, which are five juice carriers and one multi-purpose vessel.
In 2023, Chiron-tec implemented a system for the control and monitoring of the cooling plant in Citrosuco's newest addition to its ship fleet – Emily Oldendorff. Currently, the 180-meter-long and 30-meter-wide ship is being converted from a cargo vessel into a juice carrier.
The system, which consists of three Siemens SIMATIC PLCs and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system, is used to control and visualize the refrigeration process and temperatures in the ship's sixteen tanks. It also controls and monitors the cooling plant's NH3 detection and safety system.
The following special features are also part of the control system:
Visualization of the engine room
Visualization of the engine room (condenser settings)
NH3 detection
Visualization of a tank
A floor plan (including a side view at the top)
Reliance's dual-monitor setup
