Headquartered in the Dutch municipality of Zoeterwoude, Zandbergen World's Finest Meat is a leading company in the international protein supply chain. They import chilled and frozen meat (beef, lamb, pork, poultry) from the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. The meat is prepared in various ways (portioned steaks, hamburgers, sliced and cubed products) to meet the needs of a wide variety of customers. It is then supplied to all EU countries, Switzerland, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates. Since 2018, the company has also been offering alternative protein solutions.
In March 2020, the Dutch company Chiron-tec B.V. implemented a system for the control and monitoring of the processes of cooling and freezing at Zandbergen's production facility.
The system consists of a Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC (with 1,100 IO signals) and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system.
It is used for the control and monitoring of the production facility's:
Among other things, the control system is also used for:
For the purposes of efficiency calculations and research, a pressure-enthalpy diagram is made dynamically to see what the design values are compared to the actual values when the heat pump is running.
To replay the history in the diagram, Reliance's Postmort function is used.
Visualization of an air handling unit
Visualization of a production-room temperature control
Visualization of the engine room (part 1)
Visualization of the engine room (heat recovery part)
A floor plan
Visualization of the heat pump diagram (video)
Inputs/outputs for service
A weekly time program
Try the Reliance SCADA/HMI system on several example projects or download the installer of the trial version for free.
