Visualization and control of the production of margarine at Orkla Foods Romania

Orkla Foods Romania is one of the most important food companies in Romania. It is part of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla. Founded in 2002, the company is headquartered in the capital city of Bucharest.

In 2022, a control of and visualization system was installed at Orkla Foods Romania's factory for the production of margarine. The system was implemented by the Slovak company DATANOVA.

Control system

The Reliance SCADA system is used as the main control and monitoring tool for the entire factory. In the first phase, all business-critical production systems were consolidated into one solution and older Siemens stations and energy metering devices were connected.

The next phase will include a full integration of other supportive facilities and all noncritical processes.

The Reliance SCADA is fully integrated with the company's MES and ERP systems. To achieve complete redundancy, two independent servers (interconnected and controlling each other) are used.
