Visualization and control of beer flow meters at the O₂ universum convention center in Prague

The O₂ universum is a convention and multi-purpose center in Prague located next to the O₂ arena. The center opened in 2019. Its interior has many halls, the largest of which is used to host concerts and sporting events and has a maximum capacity of 4,500 attendees.

The new building also boasts a system for the control and monitoring of beer consumption during sporting, cultural, or social events.

Control system

The system consists of a single Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. It allows operators to do the following on an on-site touch screen:

• Monitor the outflow of beer at each bar and tap
• Perform sanitization
• Monitor the amount of beer in tanks (when one tank is depleted, the system automatically switches to the next tank)
