Visualization and control of the processes of cooling and freezing at Diviande in the Dutch town of Veenendaal

Headquartered in the town of Veenendaal, Diviande is a Dutch producer of high-quality meat products. With three decades of experience in the meat industry, the company specializes in providing deep-frozen products that have been divided into portions and vacuum-packed.

In addition, Diviande develops tailored concepts for professionals and consumers through its own brands (Portion Frost, Passion for Meat, The Meatlovers) or for your private label.

In early 2018, the Dutch company Chiron-tec B.V. implemented a new system responsible for the control and visualization of the processes of cooling and freezing at Diviande.

Control system

The entire control system consists of Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLCs and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system. It was implemented to reliably monitor and control the cooling engine room and the freezing plant.

The control system is used for:

• Controlling and monitoring the cooling engine room (including the condensing circuit)
• Controlling and monitoring the frozen-food storage rooms and tunnels
• Archiving recorded temperatures and emailing log sheets to health officers
• Displaying and printing trends
• Email notification in case of an alarm
