Visualization and control of the Kliment Meat Processing Plant in Prague

At the end of 1999, the TECONT company implemented a control system for the Kliment Meat Processing Plant in the city of Prague. The control system, which consists of one Tecomat NS950 PLC and one Windows NT computer equipped with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system, provides monitoring and control of the entire meat processing plant.

The Reliance system provides monitoring and control of

• Ammonia level in the expanders
• Steam condenser
• Ammonia and water pumps
• Redundant heat for hot water preheating

The Reliance SCADA system is also used for the monitoring and control of five SABROE air pumps, temperature control in seventeen air-conditioned production areas, the monitoring of power and natural gas consumption, and the monitoring of the production processes.

The Reliance system can be accessed remotely over the Internet, which contributes to managing operating costs.
