Visualization and control of the cooling-machine room and the freezing plant at BIDVEST Czech Republic

BIDVEST (formerly NOWACO) has a leading role in the distribution of frozen, chilled, and fresh food products in Czechia. From its two distribution depots, food is distributed six times a week. Two hundred distribution vehicles take eight hundred metric tons of products to their customers each day.

Control system

In 2001, a new SCADA-based control system was installed by the PROTECO company. It was implemented to reliably control the cooling-machine room and the freezing plant.

The control system provides:

• Reliable control of the cooling-machine room (including the condensing circuit)
• Control of the frozen-food storage rooms and tunnels
• Control of the dispatch modes
• Archiving of recorded temperatures and the printing of log sheets for health officers
• Display and printing of trends

Teco's Tecomat NS950 2B PLC was installed to control the entire system, and the Reliance 3 SCADA/HMI system is used for the visualization and control of the cooling process. Reliance's visualization project contains 17 windows in total (12 windows display the cooling process, 5 windows are designed to set up parameters).
