Mill AMPA:

The Automatic Mill in the city of Pardubice belongs to the AMPA s.r.o. private company, which has been successfully carrying business in the flour-milling industry since 1993. The large mill is equiped with high end flour-milling devices, which guarantee high quality of the flour-milling production. The mill ranks among the ten largest and most powerful mills in the Czech Republic.

The Mill AMPA consists of several parts. The most important are the following: wheat mill with 180 tons production per day and rye mill with 90 tons production per day. There are also independent production lines for blending special flour mixtures for bakers and confectioners and Gluten Free mixtures.

Other important equipment of the mill is: silo and precleaning machine, screening room, flour mixing machine, testing laboratory and company's transport and maintainance system.

Description of the implementation:

In 2003, a new Control System of automatic mill technology was implemented by Jiri Machek (now ASSORTIS Electric s.r.o.). The implementation was splitted into two phases. In the first phase, a new Control System of the rye mill production lines was implemented. The rest of the flour-milling devices were connected to new the Control System in the second phase.

All production lines are controlled by the PLC TECOMAT NS-950 manufactured by the TECO company. The PLC is connected to a computer with Reliance 3 SCADA/HMI System.

The control system provides:

• Control of the rye mill
• Monitoring the power take-off and control of its quarter maximum

The SCADA/HMI System provides:

• Monitoring the production
• Control of the production
• Setting process parameters
• Generating alarms
• Logging data
• Creating special protocols
