Tannery demo
This page enables you to try out Tannery demo. You can run a visualization of an industrial process inside your Web browser and view real-time process data. The demo has been prepared in co-operation with SWYSTEM Logic GmbH, a Swiss company specializing in Tannery Automation, and represents a leather production process in a tannery. Therefore, it is called the Tannery Demo. The demo also shows how a visualization application developed in Reliance can be deployed over the Internet. The visualization is provided by Reliance 4 Web Client.

Starting the Tannery Demo
Please start download the applet program files by clicking the hyperlink below. Subsequently will display the progress bar of downloaded visualization files. After downloading of all necessary files (about 3 MB) will display the new window with Tannery demo. After that, only process data will be transferred between the Web client and the Web server.
Before you start the real-time visualization, please, make sure that you have Java Runtime Environment (JRE), version 6.0 or higher, installed on your computer. The JRE enables your computer to start the Tannery Demo visualization properly. For more information go to Java Runtime Environment official website.
Run Visualization
Description of the visualized technology
The opening window (Overview) shows a preview into the state of four technological units. Colors on each traffic light indicate the state of the technology:
- green - the technology works in fully automatic mode
- orange - the technology is switched into manual mode and needs an operator's intervention (e.g. manual refilling of chemicals)
- red - there is a fault in the technology
If you click on Drum1, you will see the preview into Technology 1. On the right hand side of the screen there is the Weigh Station, where chemicals are being prepared:
- all needed ingredients are let in
- proper mixing is performed
- resulting chemical mixture is then pumped into Prep. Tank, in which it waits (occasionally stirred) to be let into the Drum
- the station is automatically rinsed and the pipes are cleaned by water and pressurised air
In the lower left part of the window there is the Drum filled with raw hide.
Meanings of buttons on the control bar:
- Login/Logout - Operator's login/logout
- Temperature graph - shows the graph of temperature inside the drum
- Settings - opens the Settings window where you can modify some parameters, e.g. times for the cleaning of pipes, etc.
- ISO9001 Tracking - opens the window with a list of alarms/events
- Recipe - shows the Recipe window
