JTEKT Automotive Czech Pardubice s.r.o. has been active in the Czech Republic since 2006 as a continuation of Toyoda-Koki Automotive Czech Republic s.r.o. The reason for the name change was the merger agreement between Toyoda Machine Works and Koyo Seiko, which created
a strong worldwide company in the market of suppliers of the automotive industry. The company handles production and supply of accurate mechanical parts for the automotive industry, mainly for the factory in Kolin.
During the implementation of the control system, it was necessary to fine-tune HVAC systems. Due to additional requests from the client, the whole application was expanded to include monitoring the status of the work environment with focus on leakage of dangerous gases (ammonia, nitrogen, natural gas).
Each PLC is connected to the main control room, which is equipped with one computer and the Reliance SCADA/HMI system just for this purpose. The Reliance system directs smooth operation of the whole manufacturing process including monitoring and control of heating and
air-conditioning in the factory. The main control room also handles cooling water intended for cooling metal during production of metal parts.
In the event of loss of electricity, a back up supply is brought online. The fact that any outage possibly causing damage to production machines and subsequent damage to products led to the solution involving complete monitoring of all actions of workers including archiving of all production process data. Archiving all important production data is carried out by the Reliance SCADA/HMI system in the main control room.
To further ensure maximum control of the functionality of the production process and production systems involved, a GSM communication module was employed for transmission of all alarms/events to the service facility of DIGIPRO s.r.o., which is equipped with the Reliance SCADA/HMI system just for this purpose.
