PROMT Modrice, a.s.:

Meat processing plant PROMT Modrice, a.s. was established in 1994. Company was focused on butchery, production of smoked meat and compound feed after its foundation. The compound feed for livestock was produced in the remote production plant in Opava. This production plant was separated in 2006. Silagra CZ, a.s. (separated production plant) became one of the ten agricultural centers of the Agropol Group holding company. Nowadays, PROMT Modrice, a.s. focuses on slaughtering of the chickens and processing of their meat. Meat processing plant in Modrice meets the latest standards in this brunch.

Description of the implementation:

At the end of 2003, a new poultry cut-up machine was put into service in the PROMT Modrice meat processing plant. The cut-up machine was supplied by Meyn Food Processing Technology B.V. from the Netherlands. The new cut-up machine allows increasing the capacity of processed chicken up to 7,000 pieces per hour. Complete reconstruction and installation of the poultry cut-up machine, including implementation of a new Control System, was carried out by ELKING, s.r.o. from Brno, Czech Republic.

The SCADA-based Control System consists of one Tecomat TC 700 PLC device and one Control Computer. In the remote switch room, there is a distribution box equipped with the Tecomat TC 700 programmable logic controller, power circuits and drive control circuits. Communication with Control Computer is provided over RS-232 serial line. The Reliance SCADA/HMI System was chosen for reliable control and visualization of all production processes. Each particular technology or production process can be displayed on the control computer's monitor. For example, the operators can control conveyor lines, setup drive parameters, control poultry cut-up machine, etc. The data from the processing are stored in the Reliance's database for further analyses.

The Control System was also equipped with Operator Panel supplied by Exor spol. s r.o. This Operator Panel is designed for use as a back-up Control System. It means that the production line can be controlled from this Operator Panel in the event of failure of the main Control Computer.
