Kliment Praha (Meat processing plant)

Description of implementation:

At the end of 1999, the company TECONT s.r.o. implemented a Control System of the Kliment's meat processing plant in the city of Prague. The Control System consisting of one PLC Tecomat NS950 and one Windows NT computer with Reliance, SCADA/HMI system, provides complete monitoring and control of the entire meat processing plant.

Reliance, SCADA/HMI system provides:

• Control of the ammonia level in the expanders
• Control of the steam condenser
• Control of the ammonia and water pumps
• Control of the redundant heat for supply water preheating

The SCADA-based system provides monitoring and control of five SABROE air pumps, temperature control in seventeen air conditioned production areas, monitoring of the power and natural gas consumption, and monitoring of the production processes.

The SCADA-based system can also be accessed remotely, over the Internet. This fact contributes to economizing the entire operating costs.
