NOWACO has a leading role in the distribution of frozen, chilled and fresh food products in the Czech Republic. From its two distribution depots food is distributed six times a week. Two hundred distribution vehicles take eight hundred metric tons of products to their customers each day.
The new SCADA-based control system was installed in 2001. The control system was implemented to provide reliable control of cooling-machine room and cooling plant technology. The Czech company PROTECO s.r.o. was responsible for the whole installation of the new control system in the NOWACO cooling plant.
The control system provides:
A Tecomat NS950 2B PLC device was installed to control the entire cooling system. These PLC devices are produced by the Czech company Teco a.s. The Reliance 3 SCADA/HMI system was installed in order to provide reliable visualization and control of the cooling systems. The visualization contains 17 transparent windows which can display cooling systems (12 windows display cooling systems, 5 windows display parameter settings) of the NOWACO cooling plant.
