Ceska Rafinerska is the largest consumer of natural gas in the North-Bohemian region. Its daily natural gas flow has been set to certain quantity. The Ceska Rafinerska company might be penalized, if its natural gas flow was overdrawn. A new Control system of enterprise gas flow and consumption was implemented for this purpose.
Description of implementation:
The company's daily natural gas flow and its consumption is controlled by a SCADA-based system. If any warning or critical limit is reached, SMS messages and E-mails are automatically sent to responsible personnel by the Control System. In order to provide a time allowance for a possible cut-down of the natural gas consumption, the warning and cricital limits can be changed by the responsible personnel.
An automatic data acquisition from three ELCOR-94 (Gas-volume conversion device) is provided by Reliance Server, which is located in a server room, together with GSM modules and a modem. Reliance Runtime Control clients and Reliance J Web clients can connect to Reliance Server. All natural gas consumption data is stored in a database every hour and is available for Reliance Runtime Control clients and Reliance J Web clients. Another feature of the Control System is displaying trends and reports of the natural gas consumption.
Examples of visualization windows:

The beginning visualization window

A visualization window that displays trends of the consumption and flow of natural gas per day, warning and cricital limit definition, the amount of natural gas left to consume before reaching a limit and value that ensures stable gas flow without reaching any of the limits.

The list of recipients of warning SMS messages and E-mails. Sending SMS and E-mail messages to a recipient can be temporarily deactivated (e.g. during absence at work) by the administrator.

Editor of the warning messages. Warning messages can contain momentary situation of the gas flow. The text is defined by formatting strings.

Reports of the natural gas consumption are automatically generated by the Control System. The reports are available from the local network (LAN). A user can choose a place and season of the measuring and consequently view the selected consumption report.
